It’s not about bowling. It’s about kids. Bowl for Kids’ Sake is an easy and fun way to make a difference, and everyone can get involved as bowler, team captain, or a sponsor. It’s a party with a team of friends, family, neighbors or colleagues. Remember it’s not your skill or your score that counts – it’s your effort! If you care about kids and can spare a little time for fun, then Bowl for Kids’ Sake is right up your alley!
The Bowl For Kids' Sake Campaign initiative supports Big Brothers Big Sisters’ goal to reach 1,000,000 matches by 2010. To reach that goal, we need funding to dramatically increase volunteer recruitment, marketing, and service delivery. Bowl for Kids’ Sake has a measurable impact on these goals:
- The events garner media exposure in nearly 400 markets and over 4,000 cities and towns across the country
- BFKS generates visibility for Big Brothers Big Sisters to over 20,000,000 individuals each year
- More than 500,000 people participate in BFKS events annually
- Over 2,000,000 donors contribute through BFKS annually
- In 2004, nearly 400 local Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies raised over $20.5 million
Bowl for Kids’ Sake revenue is primarily generated by individuals who solicit pledges from their circle of contacts to support their best bowling game at a Big Brothers Big Sisters hosted event. These contacts can be Big Brothers and Sisters, their friends and families, donors, parents of Little Brothers and Sisters, vendors, contractors, business associates, or teachers. In addition, corporate/business sponsors provide cash and in kind contributions to underwrite event costs.
